Mercedes-Benz, the German luxury car manufacturer, today launched the Mercedes-Maybach S 600 Guard in India priced at Rs. 10.50 Crore (ex-showroom Delhi), making it the most expensive Mercedes product on-sale in India.
The exquisite Mercedes-Maybach S 600 Guard is the first civilian vehicle to be certified with the highest ballistic protection level VR10, and is one of the safest luxury spots on wheels in the world. To obtain this certification, the car’s bodywork and windows must be able to withstand hardened steel core bullets fired from an assault rifle.
Additionally, the company is offering a number of features as optional extras. These include opaque roller blinds all-round in the rear, heated windscreen and side windows, a panic alarm system, a fire extinguisher system with automatic activation, an emergency fresh air system that protects occupants from the ingress of smoke or irritant gases, hydraulic power for the side windows and LED reading lamps in the rear.
The Mercedes-Maybach S 600 Guard is powered by a 6.0-litre twin-turbo V12 petrol engine producing 523 BHP @ 4,900-5,300 rpm and 830 Nm of torque @ 1,900-4,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 7G-Tronic automatic transmission. The car has a claimed 0-100 kph time of 7.9 seconds and a top speed of 190 kph.
As in the case of standard production models, the full manufacturer’s warranty also applies to the Mercedes-Maybach S 600 Guard and the other models in the Guard family. Also the Mercedes-Maybach S 600 Guard can be serviced and repaired at all Mercedes-Benz service outlets in India.
