The F10 BMW M5 is now officially available in India, joining the facelifted F10 5-Series range that was introduced by BMW Group India in October-2013. The high-performance sedan will be available at a price of Rs 1.35 crores and is available across all company dealerships from today. Next-up from BMW India is the new M3 and M4, which will be launching on Thursday (November 27).
A particularly striking innovation in the appearance of the new M5 is the M ‘kidney grille’
Compared to outgoing model, the new model gets an M5 badge on the kidney grille, adaptive LED headlights as standard, subtle revisions on the tail lights and new seven-spoke alloy wheels. The interior gets a new M steering wheel, garnished with good servings of chrome and an increase in storage space under the armrest in the centre console are the noteworthy changes.
Powered by the same M twin-power, 4.4-litre V8 that offers 560bhp and 680 Nm of torque. Paired to a 7-speed double clutch transmission, the rear wheel drive M5 accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 4.3 seconds and thereby on to achieving a limited top speed of 250kmph. BMW claims CO2 emissions of 232 g/km and a fuel efficiency of 10.1 kmpl.
A new steering wheel and chrome inserts for the display are the major changes inside.
In India, the new M5 is available in Alpine White (non-metallic paintwork), and in 7 metallic paintwork choices: Black Sapphire, Imperial Blue Brilliant Effect, Monte Carlo Blue, Sakhir Orange, Silverstone, Singapore Grey and Space Grey. A standard Leather Merino upholstery is available with extended content in Black, Sakhir Orange and Silverstone colour combinations.
