Mercedes-AMG has officially launched their flagship product in India, the new S 63 AMG at a price of Rs. 2.53 crore (ex-showroom, Bangalore). This is the company’s ninth AMG offering in India.
Based on the regular S-Class sedan, this luxurious sedan is enriched with 5.5-litre twin-turbo V8 engine boosting the power of 577 BHP and torque of 900 Nm, paired to a 7-speed automatic gearbox. Mercedes claims that the car can hit 100 kph from a standstill in 4.4 seconds and reach an electronically limited top speed of 250 kph. Magic Body Control-based AMG Sports suspension enhances the dynamics.
Other unique part that the S 63 AMG has over it’s regular siblings includes an sportier bumpers with larger air intakes, AMG composite brakes, lightweight forged 19-inch AMG 10-spoke alloy wheels finished in titanium grey, AMG badges and a quad-exhaust system housed in a black diffuser. The S 63 AMG is nearly 100 kgs lighter than the stock S-Class.
An owner of an S 63 AMG, you’ll undoubtedly spend most of your time in the interior, whether in the driver’s seat or in the boss seat at the rear, so the interior has to have plenty of AMG touches as well. Features electrically adjustable AMG sports seats (with heating function), a 3-spoke Nappa leather-wrapped AMG sports steering wheel, instrument console display with AMG-spec graphics, aluminium paddle shifters, drilled pedals, AMG door sills, panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting and analogue clock in the middle of the dashboard has also been replaced by a special AMG version.
In India, the S 63 AMG will be brought as Completely Built-in Unit (CBU). But the best part is that the S 63 AMG is customizable using the newly-launched ‘Designo’ platform. The individual can choose have the choice of selecting from a number of combinations of exterior colours, interior upholstery and design trim elements. Performance and comfort features can be customised as per the owner’s need.
