Mercedes-Benz India today announced the local production of the new S-Class from its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Chakan, Pune. In line with the ‘Year of Excellence’ strategy, this strategic move will help to cater to the increasing demand for the best known Three Pointed Star in the country. The new S-Class is the most powerful luxury car to be produced in India and currently has a waiting period of approximately 3 months.

After assembling locally, the new S-Class is priced at Rs. 1.36 crores (ex-showroom, Mumbai), which means a reduced price of about Rs. 20 lakhs compared to the launch price. All 125 units of the limited Launch Edition of the new S-class sedan have found owners willing to pay the Rs. 1.57 crores asking price.

The S-Class Chauffeur Training Program –

The S-Class Chauffeur Training Program is a 21 module unique multilingual course for chauffeurs of S-Class across India. The first of its kind course is specifically designed to impart user friendly modules that enable chauffeurs to drive the new S- Class with ease and offer exceptional luxury experience to its owners while on the move.

The 21 modules focus on enhancing chauffeurs soft skills, etiquette, personal development, courtesy and safety. The modules are a combination of product features and tablet based visual learning aids. Animated modules will provide an enriched learning experience with a combination of skills and behavioural aspects built in. Experiential learning with activities during the program will translate to better control and optimum use of the many features that the S-Class is stocked with. Finally, Pre-Test and Post-Tests will be conducted to assess the effectiveness of the training and the learning of the drivers.
