After obtaining the decent sales for the recently launched Gusto, Mahindra is now planning to launch a new premium 125cc scooter based on the Gusto to compete the likes of other big manufacturers such as Honda and Suzuki in the Indian market.
The Mahindra Gusto is the company’s first 110cc scooter.
The upcoming new 125cc scooter based on the Gusto would feature redesigned body panels, front kick starter, seat height adjustment, flip-key and follow me lamps. Mahindra also wants to add improved features, new technologies to its existing scooter line up comprising of Rodeo, Duro, Flyte and Kine, all of which failed to obtained the required decent sales in the Indian market.
Coming to the technical specifications, Mahindra’s new premium 125cc scooter would be developed in-house and is also expected to be a derivative of the recently introduced 110cc M-TEC engine. Mahindra is expected to launch the all new 125cc scooter in the second half of 2015 competing the likes of other 125cc manufacturers such Suzuki Access, Honda Activa 125 and Suzuki Swish in the Indian market. With the recent launch of Gusto, Mahindra has actually put in new technologies and features which have helped it obtained the decent sales in its segment which could also be expected in the new 125cc premium scooter.
