Bajaj Auto is gearing up to take the motorcycle industry in India to the next level. Tomorrow, the second largest two wheeler manufacturer in India, will be launching their first KTM bike to the country, 200 Duke. KTM is an Austria based motorcycle company in which Bajaj Auto has a 39% stake.
Bajaj already manufactures KTM motorcycles in India at their unit in Chakan near Pune, which are exported to European markets. Mr Rajiv Bajaj, MD, Bajaj Auto said, “We expect this initiative to bring enormous energy into our system. Customers who visit our showrooms will hopefully be impressed with what they see and overall sentiment will be lifted in the process.”
Talking about their more exciting offering, the new Pulsar range, Mr Bajaj said, “I am confident that the new Pulsar will be the most stunning sports bike in the world. It is also my belief that as much as DTS-i took the market by storm, the new technology in the Pulsar will shake up the market this decade.”
Bajaj Auto will be unveiling their all new Pulsar range to India on the 30th January in Mumbai, commemorating the 10th anniversary of the Pulsar brand. Later this year, Bajaj have announced plans of introducing new members to the Discover family. “Our strategy is to be a bike specialist. We have every reason to believe that 2012-13 will be an exciting period where we can produce something special for customers both here and abroad,” Mr Bajaj added.
