The Korean car manufacturer, Hyundai being the second largest car manufacturer in India is planning to launch three new vehicles into the Indian market which would be a compact SUV, an MPV and a small car. Out of these releases the first launch would be a compact SUV which is aimed to compete the rivals such as Renault Duster, and newly arriving Ford Ecosport which are currently in great demands and this new compact SUV would be built in either i10 or i20 platform.
After this a mini MPV would be launched which would again compete its rivals such as Maruti Ertiga, Toyota Innova and the upcoming Chevrolet Enjoy. Last but not the least Hyundai would introduce a small car in to the Indian market which would be placed in between i10 and i20 (named i15 aka Brilliant) as reported by MD and CEO Bo Shin Seo to Times of India. With diesel cars in demand due to high petrol prices, Hyundai has invested 1,500 crore in its new engine plant in Chennai which would produce 3,00,000 engines a year (both petrol and diesel).
