Mr. Pawan Munjal, Managing Director, Hero MotoCorp said –

“They are working on a platform strategy wherein multiple variants of each bike will be launched in different categories. So each platform will spawn at least four different variants”.

For this, Hero has developed a new platform for the upcoming HX250R motorcycles which would be shared with three products in the near future. Three products would comprise of a Sports bike, Street fighter machine to compete the likes of KTM Duke and an off-roader like the Impulse. Hero MotoCorp being one of the best two-wheeler manufacturers and sellers in the Indian market has planned to share platforms since it also wants to make a mark in the performance space.

Coming to the technical specifications, all these bikes are expected to be powered with the same 250cc single cylinder engine which is developed in conjunction with EBR producing an output of 31PS. All these motor cycles are expected to be launched in early 2015 at a price tag between INR 1.5 to 2 lakhs in the Indian market.
