Ford India has announced that it will temporarily suspend production of the Figo and Figo Aspire to investigate a software concern related to the Restraints Control Module.
The company has issued a notice to all its dealer to hold the deliveries and to stop giving demonstrations of the cars to customers with immediate effect. Once the issue is resolved, Ford India will resume deliveries of both the Figo and Figo Aspire models.
Commenting on the Ford Figo, Figo Aspire’s Restraints Control Module issue, the Ford India said:
We have issued a Dealer Demonstration and Delivery Hold notice while we investigate a software concern related to the Restraints Control Module with Figo and Figo Aspire vehicles. Ford remains committed to delivering world-class quality vehicles to our customers, and Dealer Demonstration and Delivery Holds are part of that commitment.
The Restraints Control Module is the electronic component which controls the safety systems like the airbags, seat belt pre-tensioners and fuel cut-off. There is no much information about what technical issue the car has and how many cars affected by the issue are already on-road and how Ford India will fix the issue on them.
