Noida-based e-bike manufacturer, Lohia Auto has launched its OMA Star electric scooter in the Indian market for Rs. 40,850 (on-road Delhi).
The Oma Star is designed to cater comfort and city performance, further, it comes with attractive styling and best-in-class performance. Other main USP of the scooter is low running costs and zero tailpipe emissions. It gets alloy wheels, telescopic front forks, wide seat, digital speedometer, alloy wheels, large storage cabin and high ground clearance.
The Oma Star is powered by a 250 watt brushless motor which is in turn powered by a 20 AH battery, which is maintenance free. It takes around 6 to 8 hours to get fully charged and can cover a distance of 60 KMS on single charge. It can attain a top speed of 25 KMPH carrying two persons (rider + pillion), which seems decent enough for a daily city commute.

A lithium ion version of the Oma Star first showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo is now in the works, called Oma Star Li, which will be launched at a later date. The Oma Star Li will not only be lighter compared to the standard variant, but also reduce the charging time by half.
