Following teaser sketches released late last-month, Ford Figo Concept compact sedan has come out in the open, less than a week ahead of its Auto Expo premiere. It’s the sequel to the Ford Ka/Figo Concept first unveiled at Brazil in November-2013. This sub-4-metre sedan will mark Ford’s entry into the compact sedan segment.
Ford Figo compact sedan has made its global debut here in India today, and will be the biggest highlight of Ford at the Auto Expo 2014. The styling is the first to show Ford’s new design language, and is completely different from the existing Figo, the front bumper has a grill that would make us think of the Aston Martin and the curvy profile on the bonnet and the top is carried all around the car.
The cute sedan is believed to come powered by a 1.5-litre petrol, 1.0-litre EcoBoost (Ford’s award winning engine) turbo-petrol and the 1.5-litre TDCi turbo-diesel. The Figo compact sedan will directly compete with the likes of Maruti Swift DZire, Honda Amaze, Tata Zest and the new Hyundai Grand i10 sedan, which will be unveiled tomorrow.
