Japanese auto-maker Honda recently showcased the next-generation Amaze at the 2018 Auto Expo. Hyundai Creta rival, Honda HR-V a premium SUV is also under consideration for India.

Honda, currently have a cross-over in its India lineup which fits under the Sub-4-meter category. The WR-V cross over is under pinned by the platform of the Jazz and is selling in good numbers. This may convince Honda on bringing a new compact SUV for its India line-up.

On the platform of the Amaze, Honda expressed that it is more flexible and can accommodate more body styles. This platform is a modified version of the existing platform which under pins the likes of the Brio and BR-V. When Honda does plan an launching a Compact SUV based on this platform, it will be cheaper than the WR-V, given the low cost structure of the platform.
