BMW G310R and G310GS India launch likely on July 18, 2018

BMW Motorrad are planning to enter the premium sports bike segment by launching the G310R and G310GS  Both bikes are scheduled to be launched on July 18th. BMW Group have sent out a ‘Block your Date’ invite for the event scheduled to take place.

Made by TVS, BMW G310 GS competes head-on with a KTM 390 Duke.

The company has already started accepting orders for this duo and are charging Rs.50,000 as a booking amount for them. Both of them will be sold through BMW Motorrad dealerships across the country. These dealerships are located in important cities in India which include Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Kochi and Chandigarh.

The G310R and G310GS are jointly developed by BMW and TVS. Both these models are currently being manufactured at TVS Hosur plant, located in Tamil Nadu. The G310R will be a naked sports bike, while the G310GS will be available in a fully-faired package.

BMW G 310 GS comes equipped with a long travel suspension, engine crash guard and 19-inch front wheel.

Both will be powered by a 312cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. This engine produces 34 bhp of power and 28 Nm of torque. It will come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Both bikes will have features such as ABS, mono-shock suspension, front and rear disc brakes, USD forks and so on. The India-spec models will be similar to the export-ready ones. It will also mark the return of BMW Motorrad to the Indian market, with the company hoping it to be a memorable one.
