BMW Motorrad have opened bookings for its much awaited duo of the G310R and the G310GS in India. Buyers can pre-book their bikes by filling an online form on the official website of BMW Motorrad India. As per reports, BMW Motorrad will accept Rs. 50,000 as booking amount for these bikes.
Both these bikes are currently in production and will be produced in TVS Hosur plant in Tamil Nadu. India will also serve as an export base for international markets, which will be exported from this plant. The G310R is a street naked bike which will be the most affordable bike in BMW’s line-up.
On the other hand, the G310GS will be positioned as an adventure bike, also the most affordable one of its kind when launched. Both bikes will feature ABS, alloy wheels as standard, disc brakes, upside down front forks and so on. BMW revealed both these bikes at the 2018 Auto Expo which was held at Greater Noida in February.
Both these bikes will use a 313cc, liquid-cooled engine. This engine Is jointly developed by both BMW and TVS, making 34 BHP of power and 28 Nm of torque. It will come mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
The G310R will rival the likes of the KTM Duke 390, Yamaha YZF-R3 and the TVS Apache RR 310. On the other hand, the G310GS will have its rivals in the form of the Royal Enfield Himalayan and the Kawasaki Versys 300. With the response gained by both bikes, we can expect a successful outing for BMW in its comeback to the Indian market.
