Having propelled two bikes in the 200 cc segment , and an all-new bike in the 150 cc fragment, Bajaj Auto will now turn its center towards the 400 cc arena. The brand showcased the Pulsar CS400 and the SS400 concepts at the Auto Expo a year ago, with plan of launching them in the market.
Bajaj Pulsar SS400Talking to PTI, Rajiv Bajaj, overseeing executive of Bajaj Auto, said that the Pulsar 400 will be dispatched “some time in this financial year (by March-2016)”. Upon launch, the Pulsar 400 will be the new leader of the brand, he affirmed.
The SS400 or the Super Sport 400 will come with a styling similar as the RS200. Much the same as the RS200, the SS400 comes with double projector headlights, LED taillights and a similar instrument cluster. Then again, the CS400 sports a power cruiser configuration with an emphasis on giving an ergonomic carriage to long rides.
Bajaj Pulsar CS400At the time of showcase, Bajaj said that the CS400 was 50 percent production prepared, however the organization did not uncover motor particulars of both the bikes. Reports propose that a KTM-inferred motor could power these new lead offerings. The same motor that powers the Duke 390 and RC390 will probably make its way to these too. The motor is expected to develop about 40 Bhp of power and a peak torque of 32 Nm.
There are expected to be priced around the Rs 1.8-2 lakh (on-road) mark when they get launched in the country.
