Bajaj Pulsar 200 SS showcased at a private gathering in unknown location!

Earlier this-year at 2014 Auto Expo, Bajaj Auto first showcased a fully-faired motorcycle, Bajaj SS 400. Based on this a younger sibling is developed, the 200 SS which is now unveiled at a private viewing event in unknown location. Nothing much about the event is known at the moment, but it was the first public appearance of the Pulsar 200 SS, and only selected guests had the chance to see in metal the latest creation of Bajaj.

This production-spec Pulsar 200 SS was snapped by a Facebook user Mr. Rakesh Gowda during an private event. A glimpse at these images, you’ll immediately note that the private event took place outside India, considering the language on the poster in background, is not English. This indicates that Bajaj Pulsar 200 SS, either will be launched first outside India, or the company is simultaneously planning to start exports as soon as it is launched in India.

From the image, we can make-out that the Bajaj Pulsar SS200 will look much like the Pulsar SS400, however, the 200 SS badging shouts it’s a younger sibling. The Pulsar 200 SS will get a full-front fairing, LED DRLs, twin projector headlamps, twin tail lamps, underbelly exhaust, new colour combinations, 200 SS sticker next to rear seat (as seen in other Pulsar’s), and a Pulsar logo on the fuel tank.

Under the skin, the 200 SS is likely to be powered by the 200 NS’s 199.5cc liquid cooled, 4-stroke, single cylinder engine delivering 23.52 PS @ 9500 rpm and 18.3 Nm of torque @ 8000 rpm and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. However, for the SS, Bajaj Auto could replace the carburettor with a fuel injection system. Suspension will be a telescopic fork at the front and monoshock at the rear.

Stopping power will be provided by single disc brakes on both wheels. An ABS unit might be provided as an option although it seems unlikely they would (since the KTM RC 200 doesn’t get ABS). Bajaj Pulsar 200 SS is expected to be priced at Rs. 1.3 lakhs (ex-showroom, Pune) and the launch will take place anytime soon.
