Japanese two-wheeler giant, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt Ltd will launch four new products in the country every year. In 2013, the company has already launched 3 new products Honda Dream Neo 110cc motorcycle, Honda CB Trigger 150cc and Honda Activa-i, thus, 1 more products are in the pipeline for this-year.
Now folks at AutoCarIndia report that Honda is all-set to open an important new chapter with 125cc Activa. Currently, Honda doesn’t have a product any product in the 125cc scooter segment. Thus, Honda adding a 125cc scooter might become a nightmare to the entire two-wheeler manufacturer who are now enjoying the freedom in 125cc automatic scooter segment.
Under the skin, the Activa 125 will be powered by a near 125cc, 4-stroke, force air-cooled, single-cylinder engine, with variator-controlled automatic transmission. While nothing much is known about the upcoming Activa 125 expect it to get a telescopic suspension, Combi brakes, Digital speedo console and other new features.
Surprisingly, the Activa 125 with an automatic transmission is just around the corner, set for launch in a few weeks from now as soon as before the Indian festive season commences, sometime in September-2013. Of course, the Activa 125 will be well built scooter with quick performance and brisk acceleration, but with minimal compromise on fuel-efficiency. Like the current Honda Scooter range, we expect this to deliver 60 kmpl.
We expect the Honda Activa to be priced around Rs 50,000-55,000.
