Aprilia affordable scooter on its way, likely to be named the Comfort

Aprilia will soon be bringing an affordable scooter to India. This is to expand the brand’s image in India, with Piaggio having set their focus here. At present, Piaggio are working on the project and initial stages of testing could begin soon.

The scooter is reportedly set to be christened the Comfort. As in the name, we can expect the Comfort to cater to those looking for a comfortable everyday scooter being good on practicality. These include a well proportioned seat, good storage space and a wide floor board.

The upcoming family scooter from Aprilia would use the engine that drives the Aprilia SR125.

The Comfort will be based on the same platform as the SR125 and SR150, meaning that the scooter can come at an aggressive price tag. It will be manufactured in Aprilia’s Baramati plant located in Maharashtra. The Comfort will come powered by an 125cc motor seen on the SR125.

This air-cooled engine delivers 9.52 bhp of power and 9.9 Nm of torque. It will come mated to a CVT transmission. On the safety department, ABS and disc brakes are set to be offered.

It is said that the Comfort will be launched here around August next year. When launched, the Comfort will have its rivals in the form of the TVS NTorq, Honda Activa 125 and the Suzuki Access 125. The launch of the Comfort will be followed by the Storm 125, which will be another performance-oriented scooter as the SR125.
