The BMW G310R has been spied testing in Bangalore-Krishnagiri highway yet again, courtesy Motoroids. Recently organised a media ride for journalists in the United States, reviews give the thumbs-up to the G310 R.
The BMW G310R is BMW Motorrad’s first product from their joint venture with TVS. Launch confirmed to take place by March / April this-year, the production has already commenced in India at TVS Motor plant in Hosur near Bangalore. The MADE-IN-INDIA BMW motorcycle will be exported to Europe, Australia, and other countries in Asia.
Inspired from a ‘BMW CONCEPT STUNT G310’, the G310R features a short wheelbase and an aggressive stance. Noteworthy features of the smallest capacity BMW motorcycle are – upside-down front forks, mono-shock rear suspension, fully digital instrument control, LED side indicators, 17 inch alloys wrapped with Metzeler tyres and so on.
The BMW G310R is powered by a 313 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke engine, paired to a 6-speed transmission. This unit develops 34 PS of peak power at 9,500 rpm and 28 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm. It is rumoured to offer an impressive fuel efficiency of 36.05 KMPL, yet attain a top speed of around 144 KMPH.
Priced in India is expected to be in the range of Rs 1.8 lakh, while in the UK price starts from £4,290.
