Bajaj Auto are undergoing a bit of a change in strategy, thus updating existing models in its line-up to make them more desirable. The next off line is the Platina entry-level commuter, which is a decent seller for the company. The updated Platina will feature new graphics along with the addition of Combi Braking System (CBS).
It has been launched at a price of Rs. 49,300 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The 2019 Platina 110 CBS will cost Rs. 2,000 more than the previous model. Better graphics and a longer seat has been added for convenience.
Mechanically, the motorcycle will come powered by a 115cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine borrowed from the Discover 110. This engine is capable of producing 8.9 BHP of power along with 9.81 Nm of torque. It will come mated to a 4-speed gearbox.
The 2019 Platina 110 CBS is offered with a telescopic front suspension and twin shock absorbers at the rear. Bajaj will offer its 5-5-5 scheme on the motorcycle. This scheme includes five years of free own damage insurance cover, five free services and a five year warranty.
The 2019 Platina 110 CBS will have its rivals in the form of the Hero Splendor Plus and the TVS Sport. Bajaj have the CT 100 and the Discover 110 in the 100-110cc commuter segment. With the Platina 110 CBS, the company will be hoping to make a mark in the gruelling and cut-throat segment.
