Bajaj Auto has updated the Platina ComforTec for 2017 model year at an introductory price of Rs. 46,656 (ex-showroom Delhi).
The company claims that it is the first Indian bike in the 100cc-150 cc segment to come with LED DRLs, which consume 88% less power and last up to four times longer. The DRL is placed above the headlamp unit. Apart from the LED DRL styling, the new Platina also gains new graphics, new instrument cluster design and superior tyres.
The 2017 Platina Comfortec is available in only one guise with both alloy wheels and electric start as standard and comes in two colour schemes – Ebony Black with Silver decals and Cocktail Wine with Red stickers. It also features 20 percent longer suspension travel in front and 22 percent long rear suspension than any other product in the segment.
Mechanically, the new Platina Comfotec remains unchanged with the 102 cc, single-cylinder 2-valve DTS-I engine that develops 7.9 PS of power at 7,500 rpm and 8.34 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm paired to a 4-speed gearbox. It returns a fuel-efficiency of 100 KMPL and has a top speed of 90 KMPH.
Bajaj Auto has also launched the Platina ES Spoke variant in August-2017, that’s Rs 4k cheaper than the new variant.
