Rumors say that the Vento R Cup is being replaced by the upcoming Ameo racecar?

Ahead of the debut, the Ameo R Cup prototype racecars have been spotted testing at the MMSC race track in Chennai. From the spy pictures, we can se a large rear spoiler for added downforce, a lowered suspension setup, larger wheels with low-profile MRF racing slicks and bigger racing brakes all-round. Also note the roll cage at the rear cabin.

The Ameo R Cup racecar is likely to be powered by a 1.4-litre TSI engine, turbocharged and supercharged, which is expected to produce around 200 BHP and 250 Nm of torque being mated to a 6-speed DSG gearbox with paddle shifters. As the Vento R Cup racecar weigh 1225 kg and the Ameo is expected to be lighter, having small boot at around 1150-1200 kg.

The Ameo R Cup racecar will possibly be even louder than the Vento counterparts due to a shorter exhaust setup and a single resonator just like the car it replaces.
