TVS NTorq 125 sales cross 3.50 lakh units, feat achieved in just 19 months!

News has come that the TVS NTorq 125 has seen its sales reach the 3,50,000 mark here. The strong-selling scooter from TVS has achieved this milestone in a span of just 19 months, which makes it a remarkable feat. This comes at a time when the automobile industry is experiencing an economic slowdown in demand.

Coming back to the NTorq 125, it was derived from the TVS Graphite concept shown at the 2016 Auto Expo. TVS launched the NTorq 125 in March 2018, and the scooter got off to a great start. Sales of the NTorq 125 reached the 1,00,000 lakh mark in September 2018, making it one of the biggest selling scooters in recent times.

The NTorq is offered with a host of features. These include TVS Smart Xconnect Bluetooth connectivity system, LED DRL’s, front disc brakes, digital instrument cluster and so on. TVS also sells the NTorq 125 Race Edition, coming with some unique colour schemes.

The NTorq 125 comes powered by an 124.79cc, single-cylinder, four-stroke motor. This motor makes 9.4 BHP of power and 10.5 Nm of torque. It comes mated to a CVT transmission, which at present, is not seen on many scooters here.

TVS managed to sell 25,578 units of the NTorq 125 in August 2019, thereby keeping it in good demand. This was followed by even better sales numbers during September this year, which stood at 27,814 units. During this fiscal year, the NTorq 125 sold an impressive 1,40,159 units, leading to a 39% year-on-year growth.

The NTorq 125 comes at a price of Rs. 62,995 (ex-showroom, Delhi). It rivals the likes of the Honda Grazia 125 and the Aprilia SR125 in its segment. TVS will hope that the NTorq continues its winning run here to make a big contribution to their overall sales.
