The firstever image of New TVS Apache has shocked every bike enthusiast today. From what we can see, the Apache could finally get a different fairing, perhaps with new headlamps. Now we know the folks at TVS were not snoozing. Instead were been busy developing a bigger and updated version of the TVS Apache motorcycle, silently with a big surprise.
If you remember, sometime in November last-year AutocarIndia had reported (click here for the link) that TVS was about to launch an upgraded Apache RTR series sometime early this year. Going by what AutocarIndia had reported, it looks like TVS is all set to launch the upgraded 2012 Apache soon, but there is no formal word from the company regarding the full fairing Apache.
The New Beast in the picture, looks like it is going to be a full faired and the tagline for the motorcycle is ‘New Beast. Same Bloodline.’ TVS will take the ante up with the new Apache and one can expect a lot more as the company also has an association with racing.
From the teaser image, it is evident that the styling will be very different and will feature twin head lights with angle lights in the front. We expect the new beast to feature monoshock suspension, a set of new alloy wheels, new footpeg geometry, clip-on handlebars, re-designed fuel tank, split seats, new tyres, a broder rear tyre and a new exhaust. ABS will be available as an option and the new Apache will be relatively light and insanely quick.
Other rumors in the web suggest, the new TVS Apache will be more powerful than the current version and is believed to be powered either by a 200cc or a 250cc single-cylinder engine, which would produce power between 23-25 BHP. We are yet to get confirmation, if the engine will be fuel-injected. The new beast is expected to claim a top speed in the region of 140 km/h, while 0 – 100 km/h should be done and dusted in less than 10 seconds.
As far as pricing is concerned we feel that TVS is targeting a sub Rs. 1 lakh pricing (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the new Apache to price it competitively. Talking about aspect of the new Apache, it will compete with the Honda CBR250R, KTM Duke 200, which are both hot sellers. Bajaj Auto is coming up with the Pulsar 200NS which is ready for launch by late-this month. So, here again the new Apache 200cc or a 250cc might fit right in.
