TVS Motor Company announced that its popular 160cc motorcycle, the Apache RTR 160 4V has clocked sales of one lakh units since launch. Currently in its third generation, the Apache RTR 160 4V has seen good demand and is one of the best-selling motorcycles in its class. Remarkably, the motorcycle achieved this feat in a span of just 6 months.
The Apache RTR 160 4V represents TVS rich racing heritage developed over three decades ago. It is born of the six-time Indian National Motorcycle Road Racing Championship (INMRC) winning motorcycle. That is, the Group B RTR 165, with race specifications being same on both.
The Apache RTR 160 4V comes powered by an 159.7cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine. This engine produces 16.8 bhp of power and 14.8 Nm of torque. There is also a carburetted version available, giving 16.5 bhp of power and 14.8 Nm of torque.
TVS claims that the motorcycle can accelerate from 0-60 in 4.8 seconds, while the carburetted one does the same in 4.73 seconds. The company offers the Apache RTR 160 4V in three colour options, namely red, blue and black. The demand for this motorcycle will only go upwards from here, with TVS offering best-in-class performance priced at Rs.86,728 (ex-showroom, Mumbai) to Rs.88,328 (ex-showroom, Mumbai) as well.
