VIDEO: TVS Apache RR 310S (aka Akula 310) outpaced Bajaj Dominar 400 by a country mile

The new TVS Apache RR 310S (TVS Akula 310) has gained a massive fan following in its pre-launch phase. With the motorcycle fast approaching its launch, it has created a buzz that the upcoming bike can pose a serious threat to the Dominar 400 from Bajaj Auto.

A video of the Dominar 400 rider trying his best to catch a test-mule of the Apache RR 310S, only to be zoomed ahead by the bigger Apache has surfaced online. This video was shot at NH-44 near Salem in Tamil Nadu, where the Apache RR 310S is usually seen undergoing testing before its official launch, possibly around August-2017. The video had showed the Dominar 400 rider going at speeds of about 150+ KMPH, but without any success.

Another high-resolution video of the flagship TVS motorcycle has been published by the folks at MaxAbout, where the Apache RR 310S is shown being revved for its raspy exhaust note. We’ve already shown you a bunch of spyshots, but this time we also have much clearer photos of the bike snapped somewhere on the Bangalore-Chennai highway.

The Apache RR 310S will borrow the powerhouse option from the upcoming BMW G310R, powered by a 313cc engine mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The power output is expected to be lower than that of the BMW. The motorcycle is rumoured to be priced around Rs. 2 lakh (Ex-showroom), and will be launched, ahead of the arrival of BMW G310R in India.

The Apache RR 310S inherits 33-years of racing heritage from TVS Motors. Once launched, the full-faired Apache RR 310S will compete against the likes of KTM RC390, Kawasaki Ninja 300, Benelli TNT302, Yamaha YZF R3 and of course, the Bajaj Dominar 400. Only time can tell if the RR 310S can bring the high-flying Dominar 400 back down to earth.
