The Japanese car maker, Toyota India recently launched a limited edition of the Etios Cross called ‘Toyota Etios Cross X-Edition’. It comes with styling updates as well as new features starting from Rs 6.8 lakh for the base petrol variant (all prices ex-showroom, Kolkata).
On the exterior, there are few changes on the outside like black plastic cladding on the front grille, black bezels around the fog lamps, body-coloured side plastic cladding and ‘X Edition’ badges on the C-pillar. It also features new alloy wheels, and black roof rails. While the petrol variant gets body-coloured door handles, the diesel one gets some chrome on it.
The interior features carbon fiber trim on the dashboard and black and grey seat fabric, 6.8-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth and voice recognition, reversing camera, passenger and driver side airbags, front seat belt with pre-tensioner and force limiter and ABS with EBD. The diesel variant additionally gets chrome accented AC vents, a chrome accented gear knob and a leather wrapped steering wheel with silver accents and steering mounted audio controls.
The Etios Cross X-Edition is offered with the same petrol and diesel engines as the standard car. The 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine produces 79 BHP @ 5,600 rpm and 104 Nm of torque @ 3,100 rpm. The 1.4-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine makes 67 BHP @ 3,800 rpm and peak torque of 170 Nm @ 1,800-2,400 rpm. Transmission duty is done by a 5-speed manual gearbox in both the petrol and diesel models.
