Tata Motors is to officially launch the Tata Indica Vista D90 Diesel hatchback with the 90 Bhp Multijet diesel engine into the Indian market. The official launch is scheduled to happen in January 2013 and the company has already begun the promotions and pre-bookings. With the D90, the Vista is now available in 5 engine options, and will be powered by the same 1.3 multiJet diesel producing 88 Ps of power. The instrument cluster of the Indica Vista was shifted from the center to the driver side. Personally, I find that much more convenient. Other changes include dual-color and most importantly – the Drive Information system which displays the instantaneous fuel consumption average fuel consumption, digital clock, and distance to empty and outside ambient temperature.
Tata Motors will further reduce the gap between the Indigo Manza and the Indica Vista, as it will introduce a model with features that already exist on the Manza Club Class called the Indica Vista ZX+ ( name is still not certain) which will be released in the first quarter of 2013. It will be sold with Italian leather, touchscreen system with satellite navigation and other features, making it the only hatchback to be offered with touchscreen system.
The Vista D90 will be introduced in two variants, namely VX and AX. The car will be priced around Rs 5.75 to Rs 6.45 lakh. It will be powered by the 1.3 liter Fiat MultiJet turbo diesel engine that would produce high power of 90BHP along with 200Nm of maximum torque. Tata Indigo Manza sedan also shares the same engine. The amplified power and torque delivered by this engine is because of variable geometry turbocharger. Tata Indica Vista D90 hatchback get two additional colors in the form of Jet Silver and Ultra Violet shades.
