Now what do we have here? Why, it’s the Tata Tigor, in the flesh, completely undisguised! The Tiago compact sedan has been spotted at Tata Motors plant in Sanand ahead of its official launch by the end of next-month (March-2017).
In the above photo, we can now have a very good look at the upcoming Tigor, which is clearly based on the Tiago. The A-pillar quarter windows, door-mounted wing mirrors and door handles are taken straight off the B-segment hatchback.
What differentiates it from the hatchback sibling is the rear! The Tigor compact sedan gets a sportback styled rear design, a first for an entry-level sedan in the country. This design helps to offer more room at rear, and the bootspace is also said to be class-leading at 421 litres.
This particular model appears to be a top-spec diesel variant, fitted with body-coloured door handles & wing mirrors, blackened-out B-pillars and new diamond cut alloys as seen on the previous spy shots. You can expect base models to lose some of the fitments, along with thick chrome bar connecting the tail lamps and chrome treated window line.
The Tiago’s range of 1.0-litre diesel and 1.2-litre petrol engines are expected to be offered on the Tigor at launch, but we’ll know more in due time. So folks, do you like what you see here? Tell what you think in the comments section below.
