Tata Tiago XZ+ top-spec spotted undisguised, launch next-month

Tata Motors will give their strong-selling hatchback, the Tiago a new top-spec variant. The new range-topping grade is likely to be called ‘XZ+’ and will be launched in November this-year. Recently, the facelifted model was spotted undergoing testing in Pune.

The Tata Tiago’s new range-topping grade seen with larger alloy wheels and projector headlamps.

Looking at the spyshots, we can see the Tiago carrying some minor cosmetic updates. These updates include 15-inch, dual-tone alloy wheels and blacked-out projector headlamps. Tata Motors recently introduced these changes on the refreshed Tata Tigor, which came here earlier this-month.

We can expect the Tiago’s new grade to get some additional features like an 7-inch touch-screen infotainment system. The company is likely to phase out the XT variant of the model to make way for a new one. All variants are expected to get a driver airbag as standard.

Tata Tiago XZ+ new grade will borrow premium features from the recently updated Tata Tigor.

Mechanically, there are no changes expected to take place on the new model. It will draw power from the 1.2-litre, petrol engine which delivers 85 BHP of power and 114 Nm of torque. On the other hand, there is also a 1.05-litre, diesel engine which gives 70 BHP of power and 140 Nm of torque.

Both the engines comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, with a 5-speed automatic being offered as an option. The Tiago facelift will compete with likes of the Maruti Suzuki Celerio, Datsun Go, Renault Kwid and the new Hyundai Santro. We expect Tata Motors to give the vehicle an aggressive price tag starting from Rs. 4 lakh and going up to Rs. 7 lakh.
