India’s largest utility vehicle maker, Mahindra & Mahindra has announced that its recently launched Quanto SUV and now it has received an impressive 10,000 bookings within first 2-months of its launch. In order to meet growing customer demands, production at the Nashik facility will be increased to 3500 units from its current 2500 units in the beginning of January 2013.
This SUV from Mahindra is a versatile unit and can be used for city drives as also weekend drives. Riding on positive auto reviews this car has gained popularity within the Indian car market in a short period of time. It is priced in a reasonable range from Rs. 5.82 lakh to Rs. 7.36 lakh. The Quanto is powered by a 1.5-litre diesel engine which ensures a smooth and economic drive for those using the vehicle. A twin stage turbo charger ensures higher fuel efficiency and superior performance.
As we said earlier that in later months, Mahindra & Mahindra will be exporting the Qaunto to markets like Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka and South Africa. It will also export this variant to European and Latin American markets.
Commenting on the response to Quanto, Pravin Shah, chief executive – Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra said –

This strengthens our belief that the Quanto will create a new category within the SUV segment with its unique value proposition. We are confident of meeting the demand for the Quanto and are in the process of ramping up our production capacity at Nashik towards the same.”
