There has been news on Tata Motors planning to introduce a special edition of the Tigor for quite some time now. After the launch of the Tigor Buzz in June, the homegrown automaker is gearing up to launch another special edition of the car. Launch will take place on Wednesday October 10, 2018.
We can expect the special edition Tigor to have some cosmetic changes and additional features. The special edition of the compact sedan will be a completely new model, not the upcoming JTP variant. Tata Motors will be hoping that these updates will help improve the marginally decent sales of the Tigor, which is way behind established models such as the Maruti Suzuki Dzire and the Honda Amaze.
Mechanically, the car will remain the same. This means that the Tigor will come powered with a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, Revotron petrol engine which produces 85 bulbs of power and 114 Nm of torque. Another engine option will be the 1.05-litre, three-cylinder diesel motor delivering 70 BHP of power and 140 Nm of torque.
Both these engines will employ a 5-speed manual transmission, with automatic being offered as an option. Tata Motors will follow it up by launching the much-awaited JTP versions of the Tiago and Tigor soon. It is safe to say for now that the automaker has a promising future ahead given their recent success and exciting product launches taking place one after another.
