Tata Motors have officially started to accept bookings for the AMT version of their strong selling compact SUV, the Nexon. We can expect the homegrown automaker to launch the Nexon AMT sometime this-month. Tata Motors are reportedly willing to launch the Nexon AMT in both petrol and diesel engine options.
Currently, the AMT is offered only in the top-spec XZ+ trim. So, we can expect this transmission in lower variants as well after it is launched. Tata Motors are collecting a token amount of Rs.11,000 in dealerships across India.
The Nexon AMT will be offered in both petrol and diesel engine options as stated earlier. The petrol variant will have a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder Revotron engine producing 110 BHP of power and 170 Nm of torque. On the other hand, the Revotorq diesel engine will be a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder engine which gives 110 BHP of power and 260 Nm of torque.
Both will come mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox. We can expect Tata to price the Nexon AMT aggressively, same as that they did for the original Nexon. At the moment, it will be safe to say that with the Nexon AMT, Tata has another winner on its hands.
