Photo Renderings – 2015 BMW X6 to be lighter and sportier

2015 BMW X6

The BMW X6 is the car which does not really have a competition and competes in a league of its own with contemporaries. The car is not as butch as the Q7 and is not a sedan like the S-Class. It is the coupe-crossover design philosophy which results in the birth of the X6 and the car’s design philosophy is something which the competition, Audi and Mercedes are looking to build up on also in near future.

BMW has realized that the competition will soon close in on its lead and has already started working on the next-generation X6. The car would be launched by somewhere around the fag end of the year 2014 and would hit the roads by early 2015. The next-generation of the car is expected to make it bigger, bulkier and more aggressively styled and will be lighter than the outgoing version as well.

It will have its underpinnings of the BMW X5’s chasis and will come fitted with an all new ‘FlexRay’ system which will let you make electronic upgeades in future to the chasis and well as the car’s inbuilt infotainment system. The motors on offer will be the Twin-scroll turbocharged 3.0-litre Petrol, Sequential twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre Diesel, Tri-turbocharged 3.0-litre Diesel and a Twin-turbocharged 4.4-litre V8 Petrol.

The engines would be mated to an 8 ZF automatic transmission. The car might just get a hybrid variant as well with the heart being a twin-scroll turbocharged 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol engine and the electric heart deriving power from a lithium ion battery pack. The car is quite a niche product and finds a lot of takers who are in the market for somewhat an exclusive car. Stay tuned to us for further developments regarding the same.
