Ford EcoSport – Variants list
The Ford EcoSport is one the most hotly anticipated launches of the year, and thankfully the wait is expected to end in the next few weeks. The company has arranged a global test drive for the EcoSport in Goa, which will be taking place within a few days for 150 experts and media professionals from around the globe including Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Taiwan.
Coming back to the topic, we all knew that the EcoSport is to be offered in India with three engine options, 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol, 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5L-litre diesel. But what was yet not revealed, apart from the price was the number of trims and the features to be made available in respective trim. Now folks at The Automotive Forum have leaked the variant-wise equipment list, although not price.
According to these images, Ford EcoSport will launch in four trims, christened with familiar Ford nomenclature – Ambiente, Trend, Titanium and Titanium Optional (or Titanium+).
1. Ambiente variant – It will be available with 1.5-litre petrol or 1.5-litre diesel engine options with features including electric power steering with tilt and telescopic function, manual HVAC, music system with radio, aux, USB and Bluetooth inputs, electric ORVMs with turn indicators, remote central locking, front power windows, body colored bumpers, multi-function display, 100 percent rear seatback folding and 15-inch wheels with full covers. But will not feature safety features like ABS and airbags.
2. Trend variant – This variant too gets 1.5-litre petrol or 1.5-litre diesel engines with additional ABS, EBD, rear power windows, rear defogger with wash wipe, body-colored ORVMs, 60:40 rear seat split, rear parcel tray, steering mounted controls, driver seat height adjust, rear power point, silver door handles, centre stack and air wing.
3. Titanium variant – No diesel version of offer, but gets an option of the much awaited 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol motor, besides the 1.5-litre petrol with manual and automatic transmission with added features like leather wrapped steering, SYNC system, 16-inch alloys, automatic climate control, roof rails, front armrest, cooled glove box, fog lamps, driver lumbar support, dual airbags, chrome exteriors and reverse parking sensors.
4. Titanium Optional variant – The top-end variant of the Ford EcoSport comes with leather seats, push button start, keyless vehicle system and side and curtain airbags as well. Like the Titanium only available in three petrol option, 1.0-litre EcoBoost, 1.5-litre with a 5-speed manual transmission and 1.5-litre with a 6-speed PowerShift automatic transmission.
