Ford India has already stated that the official launch of all-new EcoSport Compact SUV is still some months ahead, but for now we have some good news for our readers that the upcoming EcoSport in the Indian market would carry a shocking price tag . The main aim of the Ford in introducing this compact SUV is to compete with the rivals such as Renault Duster and Mahindra Quanto both in terms of style and value-for-money.
As per the report in Economic Times, the Ford EcoSport is expected to undercut the pricing of its main competitor, the Renault Duster, by more than Rs. 1 lakh which will make the SUV market even more competitive, at a introductory price of Rs 5.9-6 lakh for the base model.
Although there was a recent hike in tax for SUV cars, Ford EcoSport would not be affected by this inspite of being a compact SUV since its engine size and dimensions qualifies as a smaller car rather than a SUV. It is even speculated to become a night mare to the hatchback from different companies such as Maruti Swift Dzire, Hyundai i20 and the upcoming Honda Amaze, since this compact SUV would be available in a price almost equal or little bit higher than the hatch back cars from different companies.
With official launch some months ahead, Ford India has already stated that they expect to launch this vehicle to about 50 countries and have motivated plans for exporting the EcoSport. The Ford Figo is presently exported to 38 countries and the company looks forward to doing even better where the EcoSport is concerned.
