It is a well known fact that Tata Motors have recently showcased The Tata H2X concept in a near production avatar as the Tata HBX concept at 2020 Delhi Auto Expo, this sub-4 meter compact SUV is popularly known as ‘Tata Hornbill’ in the Indian auto industry.
While the Tata H2X concept was fairly solid and durable, the Tata HBX concept brings robustness to a much higher level. On design, the HBX gets a bold styling theme, as seen on its elder sibling, such as the Nexon and the Harrier. Based on the ALFA platform, it measures a length of 3840 mm, width of 1822 mm and height of 1635 mm with a 2450 mm wheelbase.
Engine-wise, the HBX will derive its power from the automaker’s 1.2-litre Revotron petrol motor as the Tata Altroz. This motor has been updated recently to the BS-VI emission norms and makes 86 BHP of power along with 114 Nm of torque. It is expected to be offered with options of a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed automated manual transmission.
As per reports, the HBX is set to arrive here in April-2020. Tata Motors is expected to price the HBX at a range of around Rs. 5 lakh mark. It will rival the Maruti Suzuki Ignis and the Mahindra KUV100, both of which have already received a facelift. Once launched, the Tata HBX aka Horbill will be placed below the Nexon in Tata Motors line-up.
This would mean that the HBX can cause massive waves in its segment during the time of its launch.
