Suzuki has recently launched a limited edition of its best-seller the Swift in Malaysian car market, this special edition is called Suzuki Swift RR limited edition. The Swift RR limited edition is limited to only 200 units and the deliveries are set to begin from mid-November this year. The official prices of Swift RR limited edition are not announced, but expected to be priced below RM70k (INR 13,67,605 approx.).
The Swift RR limited edition will be plotted between the base GL and the top-end GLX. The locally-assembled GL and GLX debuted in May-2013, costs RM65,888 (INR 12,87,268 approx.) and RM73,788 (INR 14,41,612 approx.) respectively. Like the recently launched Swift XDi in India, the Swift RR is based on the base GL model given a jazzed-up treatment, and offers a cheaper route to taking a GL and dressing it up with the optional bodykit.
Mechanically, there isn’t any changes the Swift RR limited edition comes powered by a 1.4-litre VVT mill that churns out 95 PS at 6,000 rpm and 130 Nm at 4,000 rpm, paired with a 4-speed auto ‘box. In Malaysia, the Swift is available in 2 petrol engines 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre. The 1.4-litre is mated to 4-speed automatic gearbox, while the 1.6-litre petrol is available in 6-speed manual and CVT transmission.
The Swift RR limited edition comes with four-piece body kit, which includes front and rear bumper splitters, side skirts and a roof spoiler. Also on, a decal strip set and the car rides on tasty 15” black alloy wheels as well as a Swift RR emblem on both front and rear. On the inside, the only change is the addition of a Blaupunkt touchscreen double-DIN head unit, complete with navigation system and reverse camera.
