Earlier last-year, we reported that Suzuki would bring its GW250/Inazuma 250cc motorcycle onto India but we were not sure about the launch. Now folks at BikeIndia reveal the arrival of Suzuki Inazuma 250 in India is certain, but the exact launch date still remains the mystery. As of now, the Suzuki Inazuma is scheduled for an entry into the British showrooms in September this-year with a price-tag of approximately Rs 3 lakh (OTR, UK).
The name Inazuma, which means lightning, has taken inspiration from the B-King. It is extremely user friendly and fuel efficient (30.48kmpl) model wrapped up in a high-quality finish providing the ideal solution for riders looking for a top quality commuter, those returning to motorcycling or new riders looking for a steppingstone before moving on to something bigger.
Under the skin, Inazuma 250 is powered by a liquid cooled, SOHC, twin cylinder, fuel injected, 250cc engine which generates maximum power of 26bhp @ 8,500 rpm and maximum torque of 24.2 Nm@ 7,000 rpm. It has six speed transmission optimized for low to mid range speeds suitable for city traffic and highway cruising. It comes with Suzuki Dual Throttle Valve (SDTV) system for better throttle response and combustion efficiency. It also has Suzuki Exhaust Tuning (SET) servo-controlled butterfly valve which enhances low to mid range torque.
The high-quality finish is carried throughout the bike using aluminium parts which not only makes the bike look good but also keeps overall weight down helping to increase performance, agility and economy. Besides these, the Inazuma 250 comes with hydraulic disc brakes both on the front and back as well as a comprehensive instrument panel including a gear indicator, service reminder and 3-mode RPM indicator allowing you to select the gear change prompts that suits the type riding you require, including an economy mode for changing gear to achieve optimal fuel consumption.
The Inazuma will be well priced against the Honda CBR250R, and although the Honda has the advantage of a full fairing, but it will come with twin cylinder engine which Honda CBR 250R does not have. Till than let’s wait for Suzuki Inazuma 250 to be launched in India.
