DSK-Benelli will launch its BN302R sportsbike in India in the last week of this-month. The upcoming bike will be the fully-faired twin of Benelli’s popular TNT300, which is gaining appreciation from the masses instantly at the moment.
The BN302R, which was set to be named the Tornado 300, was first unveiled to the Indian public at the Auto Expo in Delhi last-year. No word on pricing as yet, it will be officially released on the launch day, but we were informed that the bookings have commenced at authorized Benelli dealerships across India for initial amount of Rs. 30,000/-.
The exterior of the bike looks very impressive, but performance and refinement are the same as of the TNT300. The BN302R will be powered by a BS-IV compliant 300cc liquid-cooled vertical twin engine, producing 38.3 BHP and 26.5 Nm with 11,500 rpm and 10,000 rpm respectively. It can sprins from 3.88 seconds to reach 0-60 KMPH and 8.53 seconds to reach 0-100 KMPH.
The motorcycle will compete in the most tantalising spot in the motorcycle market here, one where the motorcycle enthusiast gets their first multi-cylinder option bikes. It will rival the Yamaha YZF-R3, Kawasaki Ninja 300 and the KTM RC390 in this segment. The motorcycle could be priced around Rs 3.2 to 3.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), which would be decent for an imported premium sports bike.
