Honda Brio Amaze is the game changer for Honda in India, as it will be Honda’s first diesel offering in India. This car will try to snatch the crown of India’s largest selling compact sedan from Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire. Although not official, the Brio Amaze sedan in expected to be launched on 18th April and some dealers have already started accepting the bookings of the vehicle by Rs. 25,000 in advance.
Now a Team-BHP forum member named swiftnfurious has posted an image of the upcoming Honda Brio Amaze been spotted without any camouflage at a Honda dealer. The location of capture is yet to be ascertained. Wherever that maybe, it tells us the waiting will soon be over. Thus, we can assume that the Brio Amaze is almost being close to official launch soon.
Another Team-BHPian yesterday revealed that first batch of Honda Brio Amaze models dispatched to the dealers are mostly the petrol models. Furthermore says, since the intial launch the Brio Amaze gets a new top of the line variant called the VX. Its equipment list include 14”inch Alloy wheels, Airbags, ABS with EBD, Driver seat adjustment, Rear Defogger, Indicators integrated on OVRMs, Rear Arm rest with Cup Holders, Fabric Seats with Integrated Head rest.
The Brio Amaze sedan in India will be available in 2 engine options, 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine and 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine. The 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol motor is already doing duty in its hatch variant, Brio. The 1.5-litre i-DTEC oil burner is specially designed for Indian market. The specifications of this engine are yet to be disclosed but its expected to come with an ARAI certified fuel economy figure of 23 kmpl.
Both these engines petrol and diesel will be mated with a 5-speed manual gearbox while the 5-speed automatic gearbox will be available as an option in petrol variant. We at BharathAutos speculate that Honda Brio Amaze sedan will be priced in the range of Rs 5.50 – Rs 7.50 lakh.
