The recent 2013 Union Budget brought nasty surprises for all the SUV makers in India, especially to Mahindra & Mahindra. Mahindra came over that issue by adding a stone guard and thus decreased the ground clearance of its range of vehicles. After this, the government has recently announced that it would deregulate diesel prices and also commence taxing on SUV’s. With this announcement, Mahindra yet again will have to face a mighty blow since its passenger vehicles sales growth has reduced to 2.15% when compared to 4.32% last year.

Mr. Pawan Goenka, president, automotive & farm equipment sector said that “What a difference one quarter can make? If you would have asked me three to four months ago, I would have been very optimistic about the auto sector and somewhat concerned about the tractor space. But what has happened is totally reverse. As of now, we do not see signs of revival in sentiment in the automotive space.” Mr. Goenka also continued that “the company also had to remove several hundred contract workers and if the tough time continues the company might still remove some more workers. With every new product launch, M&M sweats like I imagine everyone else does. We are never sure till after the launch how the product will be received by the customers.”

In order to overcome this fall in sales and the introduction of new models from the rival companies such as Maruti, Ford, Hyundai, Tata etc… has made Mahindra & Mahindra to work continuously and increase their efforts. Here is the probable list of upcoming vehicles from Mahindra as per the reports obtained from our trusted source at Economic Times.
