Spied – Volkswagen Passat BlueMotion

Days before its official launch on the 29th of March in Mumbai, the new Passat Bluemotion has been undergoing a photoshoot for its TV Commercial where it was spotted by Vikram Jayanath and posted the pictures on Car & Bike Show by NDTV on Facebook page. More details of the Passat will be updated live from launch next week.

VW Passat BlueMotion India launch is round the corner. According to VW India officials Passat BlueMotion will hit Indian roads by next week, March-29. Thanks to Vikram Jayanath, a member NDTV Car and Bike Facebook page, we are able to bring you some spy shots of VW Passat BlueMotion from Mumbai. VW’s BlueMotion technology is known for its superior fuel efficiency figures.

The new Passat differs from outgoing model in mechanicals, the changes are more visible in front grille and headlamps. VW has been redesigned majority of body panels of  Passat. Except length, all other dimensions are remaining unchanged, in length Passat 2011 has been grown by 4mm. VW BlueMotion technology will yield unmatched fuel efficiency figures, company claims Passat BlueMotion will return  20+ Km/ltr fuel efficiency. The extraordinary fuel efficiency comes with less environmental impact, VW PassatBlueMotion will emit only 128g of CO2 while it clocks one kilometer. In global markets, VW Passat BlueMotion has two engine options, one diesel (2.0l TDI) and one petrol (1.8l TSI) option. Both the engines are connected to a DSG gearbox.

The older Passat has not been a very a successful contender in the D Segment market and has always been dominated by the Skoda Superb and Honda Accord. The new Passat is expected to be very price competitive and will play the ‘kind to the environment’ card to attract the buyers. VW is also planning to launch a ‘Think Blue’ campaign to compliment the launch of the Passat.
