The small car trio (VW UP!, Skoda Citigo and Seat Mii) from VW family has been creating buzz in the blog arena for the past few weeks. Recently we brought to you the computer generated images of Skoda Citigo. Now we have real images, the production ready Skoda Citigo spotted in the Netherlands during commercial shooting. Few days ago Skoda had unveiled a concept of the upcoming city car Citigo and for those who thought it’s just a concept this would be a surprise. From the available images we can confirm that Skoda Citigo is production ready and mass production can be started anytime from now.
The Skoda Citigo, the Czech variant of VW Up! will be sharing engines and many critical components with its base model. Skoda Citigo measures 3.56mx1.65mx1.48m (length x width x height) and will be powered by a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine with two power outputs – 59bhp and 74bhp. The Citigo will be available in both manual and automatic transmissions.
European markets will get Skoda Citigo by first half of 2012. Skoda India has already announced their plans to launch a sub-Fabia small car by end of next year. Skoda India will be bringing a 4-5 door variant of Citigo with same or a different badge. Stay tune for more updates!
