Spied – New Maruti Alto 800 interior images, to be launched in October

New Maruti Alto 800 - 001

Maruti Suzuki will be launching the Alto 800 in the Indian market during the auspicious Navratra period in October. The new car is based on the current Alto and is likely to replace the existing Alto 800. The company has worked overtime to give the Alto 800 a fresh look in interiors & exterior and it will be more fuel efficient than the outgoing model that boasts of a mileage of over 19kmpl.

According to Times of India, the Alto 800 is expected to be priced near the same level as that of the outgoing model, which has a Delhi ex-showroom price of Rs 2.4 lakh. Maruti has a lot of hopes on the Alto 800 and has thus spend over four years of time in developing it. The Alto 800 can help Maruti buyers from switching to other vehicles like Hyundai Eon which is already emerging as a significant player of entry-level small car segment.

As the car is due for launch in a few weeks from now and clear interior shots have now surfaced, thanks to CarBlogIndia for the snap. The Alto 800 gets silver and beige accents to the interiors, which are most impressive compared to the current-Alto. The dual-tone shade can be seen on the steering wheel, around A/C vents and the center console, adding a little life to the dashboard. Steering wheel comes from the Zen Estilo.

The AC vents are placed on the top of the center console and the controls are placed below the music system.  The cost-cutting is evident, the front seats have the integrated head rests and the buttons for the power windows is placed just like the Tata Nano behind the gear lever. Also there seems to be plenty of use of plastic material on the dashboard.

The height of the car has been increased, which means more leg room too. The seats are also in dual tone with beige and grey combination. This color follows for the door pads which have space allocated for mounting the speakers like its elder siblings. The ORVMs can be controlled from the inside. These OVRMs are black instead of being body colored, even in the top-end variant.
