Honda Siel Cars India Ltd. is a leading manufacturer of premium cars in India will launch the company’s first car in hatchback segment, Brio to be launched later this year and will be priced at around Rs 4.5 lakh.
The very first pictures Honda’s Brio caught testing at Greater-Noida Area by AutoCarIndia reader Vineet Kumar. These spy pics of the Honda Brio looks production ready, the car’s fender and bonnet are covered with black tape, and the headlamps are covered with plastic. However, one can easily see the basic shape of the nose and, the test car is equipped with steel wheels and plastic wheel covers.
The Brio will be powered by the same 1.2L engine that does its duty in the Honda’s larger Jazz. For a car that weighs approximately 70kg less than the Jazz, you can bet that this will be one zippy, small hatch.
In Thailand Honda offers a CVT version, it is yet to be seen whether the Indian Brio will have this option. Thai-spec Brios also get dual airbags and anti-lock brakes as standard across the range. Despite general cost savings, however, the Brio’s interiors feel well made. The chunky steering is nice to hold, the hooded dials look attractive, and the plastic quality is better than expected.
