Ford has officially confirmed the unveiling of the new Fiesta in India. The company will take wraps off the upcoming car at Delhi on the 14th of April, 2011. There is an event hosted by Ford India in Delhi on 14th April for which it has invited many auto journalists, but there is no information in the invite about the event details. The company recently launched the Fiesta Classic in India, which is going to compete in the entry level segment.
New Ford Fiesta will now have to fight against the market leader Honda City, VW Vento and also the upcoming Nissan Sunny and Hyundai Verna. The all new Ford Fiesta 2011 will feature 1.6 Litre VVTI MPFI Petrol engine churning out a nice 118BHP of power and a 1.6 Litre TDCI Duratorq Turbocharged CRDI Diesel Engine with 90 BHP of peak power. Both the diesel and petrol variants will be mated to 5 speed manual transmission. There is no indication of an Automatic transmission variant as yet, but until something official comes out, a possibility cannot be ruled out. Also there are rumours’ of new Fiesta having ABS as standard which is a great safety feature especially for unsafe roads of India.
