Earlier we brought complete details of Hero MotoCorp Impulse dirt bike, the on-off road bike which made its first appearance at London was not spotted in India until today in Delhi. The bike is an India specific modified version of the very popular Honda NXR 150 Bros which is a successful product in Brazilian market and since as per reports there are no modifications on the technical end, we assume that the bike is similar to the Bros.
The Impulse is expected to get a 149.2cc OHC, single cylinder, 4 stroke, air cooled engine capable of producing 13.8 BHP @ 8,000 RPM of maximum power and maximum torque of 13.6 Nm at 6,000 RPM. The engine will be coupled with a 5 speed gearbox. The fuel tank capacity will be around 12 liters along with 2.3 liters as reserve. The suspension of the bike will be telescopic fork at the front while a monoshock at the rear with 180 mm and 150 mm of stroke respectively.
Visually it resembles a dirt bike since it is loaded with similar features like knuckle guards, high mount exhaust muffler, raised fenders, straight pull spokes and motocross seat. Being a next-gen Bros it will have digital instrument cluster with clock, digital vertical bar display fuel gauge and “Service Due” indicator, though the appearance and positioning is not much appealing. The bike should be offered in Black, Vibrant Blue Metallic, Sports Red, Leaf Green Metallic and Vibrant Orange colours. It is expected to be launched at the 2012 Auto Expo.
