Hero MotoCorp has revealed three low cost two-wheelers, among others. Even though they revealed new concept motorcycles at the 2014 Auto Expo, while the concepts will not be making it into production anytime soon, these three motorcycles will. Here is our take on the three two-wheelers from Hero MotoCorp.
Hero SimplEcity
The whole world is in a race to come up with vehicles which run on alternative fuels, and Hero did not want to be left behind. The SimplEcity is Hero’s answer to all the tree-huggers. The SimplEcity is an electric motorcycle revealed by Hero Motocorp which promises to offer cheap, green and reliable means of commuting within the city.
The SimplEcity comes with many handy features like a removable battery pack for charging convenience, and the design too is more functional than aesthetically pleasing. The best feature of this vehicle though, is the weight. The engineers at Hero have managed to keep the weight down to a bare minimum, at 35 kilograms. The light weight also means increased manoeuvrability and also excellent efficiency. It looks like hero has created a whole new segment, of mass produced electric bikes, with the SimplEcity.
Hero Passion Pro TR
The Passion, one of Hero’s best-sellers, is actually based on the Splendour platform but was positioned and priced slightly above the Splendor. Now though, Hero has launched another version of the Passion. Named the Passion Pro TR, it is another motorcycle from Hero with the characteristics of the Impulse. The Passion pro TR offers adventurous biking at an affordable price, but has not skipped on the necessities.
It comes with exciting and useful features like, on-off road tires; handlebars with cross braces, high positioned front fender, front fender hugger, hand protectors, tank pads and bash plate. New colors and graphics too will be introduced to increase the appeal.
Hero Splendor Pro Classic
The Splendor has been Hero’s best-selling motorcycle from a very long time and even though it’s so many years old, the sales are still going strong. Not missing on the opportunity, Hero has launched a new version of the Splendor. Named the Splendor Pro Classic, the new motorcycle takes one back in time, to the olden days, with its classic cafe racer style design. Yes, you heard right. The new Splendour is designed, keeping in mind, the cafe racers of yore.
The Splendor Pro classic gets a new handle bar, new circular headlamp design and cafe racer cowl. The motorcycle also gets a generous dose of chrome on the front and rear fenders, blinkers, suspension cover and the circular rear view mirrors as well. It will be powered by a 100cc, air-cooled single cylinder SOHC engine, with an output of 7.9 BHP and 8.04 NM torque.
