Very observant enthusiasts recently spotted a face lifted Tavera MUV doing testing duties around the General Motors engine plant in Talegaon, off Pune. From the spyshot, we can discern that new alloy wheels and new graphics on the Tavera’s body. The two tone body color is said to be retained. Apart from the new bumpers and a slightly modified front grille, there seem to be no physical changes to the exterior. The interiors too look untouched.
However the biggest change will be under the hood. And that will be the 2.0 liter TCDI engine from Sonalika Rhino. The diesel engine which was originally developed by Rover of UK, produces around 120 Bhp of peak power and 280 Nm of peak torque in the Rhino. For the Tavera though, expect these figures to be detuned to 100 Bhp and 240 Nm.
Though there are no official words from GM India regarding facelifted Chevrolet Tavera MUV debut in India, we expect it to showcase at the upcoming 2012 Indian Auto Expo, with the launch to follow soon. Also, expect an upward revision in prices due to the addition of the CRDI engine to the Tavera line up.
